Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson, has explained how she lost a N50 million deal to sleazy and unfounded reports in the media about her.
The Kogi State-born actress told nigeriafilms.com in an interview that one of the challenges she has been facing as a celebrity is bad press, which she said has not been helping her career.
Mercy, who is one of the most sought-after Nollywood actresses at the moment, explained how she lost a deal worth N50 million as a result of negative reports published against her.
According to her, “it can be so painful when you read negative things about yourself, particularly when they are not true. I lost a N50 million deal with a telecommunication company as a result of this. It was few days to the completion of the deal that a story was published that I stole.”
She said those who are not happy with her current status should have a rethink because it was God that lifted her up.
